Each week SPOTLIGHT ON… shines a light on an exceptional South African entertainer who is currently “living the dream” internationally, and flying the SA flag high for us. This week it will be Sifiso Mazibuko.

Sifiso Mazibuko’s extraordinary journey from his birthplace of Kimberley to winning an international theatre award on London’s West End, has been one of perseverance and sheer courage. Studying first at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria before heading to the USA to achieve his Master of Fine Arts Acting Degree at Ohio State University, Sifiso’s career has spanned working in film, musical theatre and plays. Some highlights along his travels have included Pretville, Dreamgirls in Johannesburg, African Footprint in China and The Tempest in Ohio. London’s West End is now his home and he has most recently dazzled audiences in Motown The Musical, and for the past 2 years in the world’s most sought after hit musical, Hamilton, the last year as Aaron Burr. He recently won the coveted Broadway UK Award for Best Long-Running West End Show Performer (Male) for his role in Hamilton.

Says Co-Producer Rowan Bakker; “I am absolutely thrilled that Sifiso will be joining us on SPOTLIGHT ON. Having worked with him at the beginning of his career, it has been an absolute joy to have watched his inspiring journey to becoming the West End star that he is today.

Mazibuko responds; “I am very honoured and excited to sit and have a conversation about theatre and its impact on my life with Kate Normington, a legend in the entertainment industry and an inspiration to so many of us."

Don’t miss hearing what this inspiring talent has to share, live from London on this Wednesday.
